Badge 'Paulus Island'
Like in every other country, German Scouts are keen on gaining badges to fill their Scout uniform. Within the German Catholic Scout Organization, Scouts gain badgets by participating in Scout camps taking place throughout the year. The badge below was designed for the annual Whitsun Camp of the Scout Group Saint Paul (Sankt Paulus). It is based on the design of the badge of Brownsea Island, where the very first Scout Camp took place in 1907. The Scout Group Saint Paul is located in the Berlin district Moabit, which is surrounded by the Spree can other canals, forming an island out of Moabit. Thus the shape in the background of the badge represents the silhoutte of the district Moabit.
